Fujiyama Japanese restaurant is located on Lackey St, on the main drag of Summer Hill. It is a small yet cozy dining experience, with rough carved wooden tables and low hanging orange lighting. Softly spoken waitresses personally come to you and greet you as you enter. They are attentive and friendly, without ever making you feel rushed while you make your selection.
The menu is a fusion of traditional Japanese staples – miso, udon and ramen, combined with somewhat wild concoctions of sushi. The food is always fresh and served promptly in large portion sizes. Prices are a little steep, and it is recommended to bring your own wine (or sake!) as the alcohol list is relatively poor for a licensed restaurant.
Overall, Fujiyama is a pleasant dining experience, one frequented by locals, and inner west foodies alike.
